SYNOPSIS -
An over possessive father, Sam (Om Puri) who believes the only man
on his planet who loves his daughter the most. He's scared to imagine his
daughter Pakhi (Sakshi) in love with the man of her dreams.
His worse nightmare of losing his daughter, becomes a reality when his daughter falls in love with Samar (Priyanshu). But like most fathers around the world, Sam has to give in to his daughter's wishes and let go of his misconceptions about he being the only man who can love his daughter the most.
Priyanshu
is back. He had a supporting role in Dil Ka Rishtaa but he is back in is
full solo film. He blew everyone off in his debut film Tum Bin. He
is an actor here to stay. Who says models can't act.
It is great to see him again. The hunk's facial expressions are great. His emotional scenes are worth seeing because he makes you understand him. You get involve with his character.
Sakshi
is pretty. She reminds me a bit of Kirti Reddy and Sandali Sindha.
She looks great in Eastern and Western clothing. Her acting is above
average. This is her debut film so she still has time to improve on her
acting. She is definitely someone with potential.
Om Puri is a great actor. He is the limelight of the film. He is really funny. I've seen him play all sorts of roles before. Comedy not being his usual film and he does it well.
The
storyline was compared to Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar because of the
father/daughter/son-in-law relationship. However, both stories differ a
lot because they both have different focuses. Sure, there are similarities
but overall, APBKDH beats it by a notch.
There is a subplot in the movie which didn't take much focus. Most of the focus went towards Priyanshu trying to make Om see that he is not a bad guy and truly love his daughter.
The
movie is definitely worth watching. The songs are beautiful and
choreographed wonderfully too. Everyone looks great in the movie too.
