Nankin Bantams | |||||||||
Nankin Bantams are true bantams; they are not a miniature. Nankins are very rare; as a matter of fact I only know of about 20 Nankin breeders in the United States. They are also a very old breed. I think they are my favorite breed of chicken because they are so sweet and friendly - even the roosters. I open their pen and some of the hens will fly up on my arm or shoulder; as a matter of fact, I trained 2 of my pullets to fly on my arm when I snap my fingers! Right now, they are the only breed that I raise. My roosters's name are Nate, Ned, and Napoleon and my hens' names are Nadine, Naomi, Nadia, Natasha, Nellie, Nancy, Never (I didn't name her, my niece did!), Nuther, and Nina. |
