KATY
RIP
We used to have a gray tabby cat named Katy, but she died December 12, 2006 at a ripe old age of 15 years old.  I grew up with her and can hardly remember before we had her.  She will be greatly missed.
I have 2 cats - Tipper and Buttons. Tipper is a female tortoiseshell cat with a white tip on her tail, hence her name. She came up in 2001 as a scrawny, starving stray. We first saw her in our front yard, eating some old, soggy dog food we had left out for a stray dog. After several weeks, we finally got her to come to us and let us pet her. We decided to keep her because Katy had gotten so old she couldn't catch rats anymore. But when we looked her over, we were shocked to find out that she was pregnant! Now we had the problem of finding homes for the kittens when they were born! Well, one day Tipper didn't come up for her food like usual. The next day she came up but she wasn't fat anymore! She had had her kittens. Now we had to find them. I followed her one day and she went to the neighbor's old barn. I was disappointed; I wanted her to have her kittens at our place. A month later, on May 17, 2001, I was down at my Dad's shed when I heard Tipper. I looked under some wood leaning up against the shed and found her lying under there. Then, a tiny face popped up from her fur. A kitten!! She had moved her kittens up to my Dad's shed! She had four cute little balls of fluff! There was a male gray tabby, a female black, and two female torbies. My Mom and I named them right away. We named the gray tabby Toby, the black one Pepper, and the two torbies Nippy and Buttons. We kept them for a little while, and then we gave them to For Paws Sake for adoption; all except for Buttons. I've had Tipper and Buttons for several years now and will keep them for the rest of their lives.
