Benefits of this   fine institution of        learning
Well, this may seem shallow, but you get to live by the beach :)  I consider that a large benefit.  But, as far as school  statistics go, Pepperdine is ranked #52 on U.S. News magazines ranking, which I consider good, considering the ranking is nation wide.
The average of starting salaries for Pepperdine graduates is about $66,000, and almost 50% of graduates recieve their first job offer within three months of graduation, with  31% getting their first offers by their graduation.

Nothing really surprised me here except how fast many graduates recieved job offers.  I also like the sound of an average starting salary of $66,000...

  Transportation

There are many things to do and places to go within walking distance of Pepperdine, such as the beach, places of worship, and restaurants, but if one must travel off campus there are some good ways to get around.  ?Because of Pepperdine's location in the L.A. area, there are a heap of transport options available, including the metrolink, a rail system that connects Southern California counties.  Additionally, buses around the L.A. area are available through the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and schedules and routes can be found at at their website.

I was not that surprised by the transit situation in this area, I knew that because of Pepperdine's location it would have an established bus system, but I didn't know about the Metrolink.

Entertainment

Pepperdine is located in the L.A. area, so obviously, there is no limit to the amount of museums, show, movies theme parks, etc. that you could easily have access to from Pepperdine.  Pepperdine is right on the beach, so beach activities, namely surfing, are extremely popular among students. Pepperdine aslo has a great sports program, with volleyball, tennis, waterpolo, and golf teams all ranking in the top 10 among colleges nationally.

I was surprised that so many of Pepperdine's sports teams ranked so well nationally,  and also that surfing seems to be a very popular student activity.
