Nickelback BIOGRAPHY
Nickelback is a 4-piece band from Hanna, Alberta in Canada. The band members are Chad Kroeger (Vocals, Lead Guitar and Song writing) and Mike Kroeger (Bass Guitar), Ryan Peake (Guitar and Backing Vocals) and Ryan Vikedal (Drums).
The Kroeger brothers started up the band, which was later to become Nickelback, in 1996 in Vancouver, Canada. They did this with the help of their drummer cousin Brandon and friend Ryan Peake.
They got their name when Mike was working at the Starbucks at 3451 Kingsway; he was making change, and he said "here's your nickel back" repeatedly.

They have released 4 albums: a seven song demo, "Hesher"
(1996), their self-released album "Curb" (1998),  "The State" (1999) and "Silver Side Up" (2001).
Since the recording of Curb, the original drummer, Brandon Kroeger had left the band to pursue a different career. He had been replaced with Mitch Guindon on drums. Mitch has since left the band and Ryan Vikedal has been the drummer since the Summer of 1998, and can be heard on both "The State" and "Silver Side Up"
Shortly after the release of "The State", they were signed to EMI Records in Canada, and Roadrunner Records in the USA.
