The 300b se schematic utilizing a SRPP 12ax7. With a normal CD players output of 2 volts peak to peak, it would drive the amp to 2.5watts only. With an additional pre-amp, maximum power is 6.5 watts. Gain is in suffice without a preamp.

The 300b's PSU. Here the 6080 voltage regulator tubes are strapped as diodes. They are low dropout due to the low Rp inherent of their design. Since they are IDHT, they offer some form of slower start up than then DH diodes.
