Here are the calves in the paddock having their feed.

Up to about 6 weeks they are fed every morning and evening and have up to 6 litres of milk a day.   After that they only get fed once a day and have their milk ration cut to about 3 litres.  This encourages them to eat more grass ...which will be their main food for the rest of their lives.  In order to keep them eating the grass we also move them every 3 or 4 days into a new paddock with fresh grass.  Once they reach 10 weeks of age they are weaned from milk all together.
