The calf shed can only hold about 120 calves which menas that when you have 650 cows calving it fills up quick!  Once the shed starts to get to saturation point a group of about 50 female replacment calves (heifers) are moved up to another more open shed and then turned out into a paddock.  There are now fed their milk with a "Calfeteria"  This is filled with milk during milking and then traiiled behind the four wheel bike to the calves.


This picture shows the Calfeteria waiting to be filled.  The large silver tanks in the bckground are the milk vats, each of these holds 9,000 litres.
