May 18th to 24th

 

 

Sunday May 18th- The Mariners are 11-0 in day games this season after beating the Detroit Tigers, 6-2. Carlos Guillen, Greg Colbrunn and Bret Boone hit Seattle’s three homers. In the three-game series sweep the Mariners hammered seven HRs. Joel Pineiro (4-3), who walked 2 and gave up 4 hits in 8 IP, had a season-high 7 K’s. (28-15)

Monday May 19th- No Game

 

 

Tuesday May 20th- The Mariners scored four times in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by Randy Winn's two-run HR, to beat the Kansas City Royals, 7-4. Ryan Franklin gave up 3 ER in 6 IP, but got the no-decision. (29-15)

 

 

 

 

Wednesday May 21st- The number 7 wasn’t Freddy Garcia’s (3-6) lucky number. He gave up 7 ER on 7 hits in 7 IP. The Kansas City Royals ended Seattle’s five-game win streak by beating the M’s, 14-5. (29-16)

 

 

 

 

Thursday May 22nd- Gil Meche (6-2) had another outstanding game, giving up 1 ER in 6 2/3 IP and Ben Davis hit a HR with Bret Boone’s bat as the M’s shutdown the Kansas City Royals, 5-1. (30-16)

 

 

 

Friday May 23rd- Mike Cameron made a spectacular grab to rob Torii Hunter of a 3-run HR, and Jamie Moyer (7-2) continues to improve with age by giving up 2 ER in 5 IP as the Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins, 5-2. (31-16)

 

 

 

 

Saturday May 24th- Joel Pineiro pitched his shortest outing of the season, going 5 innings and throwing 110 pitches, as the Minnesota Twins beat the Mariners, 7-2. (31-17)
