Alberts Poems

This part of the site contains all of the poetry i currently poses by one Albert Dodd-Henze (do email me if i spelled that wrong). Since very few of these poems have titles, i merely used the first line of the poem as a semi-title. enjoy, as i have.

Time to fact the world
Waiting
rabbits with no ears
the tree is tall and dark and thin
My car crashed into the grocery store

Time to face the world
You're not who you pretend to be
Crawl out from behind your facade
Show the world, or at least yourself
Who you really are
You'll never be happy unless you know yourself.

Waiting
for my mind to decide
What it is thinking
As i watch myself
From a few feet above me
When that time comes
I'll return to myself
Be focused on something
Instead of everything at once
But now im still floating
Watching myself as i move through the world
Third person perspective
Swimming in air
I feel empty
I feel full
Out of controll
But allseeing

rabbits with no ears
jaguars that purr unnaturally loud
vipers that don't hiss
cougers that fall apart
all of them with smoke spiraling out of their asses,
damn i hate traffic jams.
the true animals are behind the steering wheels
honking and shouting and flicking you off
and the horses hiding under the hood
who in a traffic jam
do you no good
for growl and roar and sputter they may
chances are good that they'll be here all day

i lace and tie and wear the shoe
just like other people do
id really rather not in truth
be wearing any socks or shoeth

The tree is tall and dark and thin
The chipmonk stores his nuts within

My car crashed into the grocery store,
The Pepsi display is no more,
The cans they roll across the floor,
As my lifeless body hangs out the door
