Tips to help alleviate your anxiety and panic symptoms.
When you are having a panic attack, it seems like nothing will help the panic go away. Well,   here are some tips to help alleviate the way you are feeling.

Full blown panic:

~ Get a paper bag. Inhale and exhale slowly. It works like a charm!
~ Splash cold (or warm) water on your face.
~ Just try to relax, tell yourself that it is a completly normal feeling, and it will pass. You
WON'T die from the way you are feeling.
~ Call a friend who likes to talk.
~ Remember you are not trapped, and you are not alone!
~ Occupy your mind. Count backwards, say the alphabet etc.
~ Wistle, or anything to keep your mouth busy.

When you are anxious, often times
you are the only one that can make yourself feel better. Here are some tips to help with anxious times.

          Anxitey:

~ Take a walk. Preferable with someone.
~ Do a crossword puzzle.
~ Chew gum, or suck on hard candy.
~ Make a cup of warm herbal tea.
~ Hold your pet.
~ Listen to a relaxation tape.
~ Sing ( It expecially helps while driving in the car.)
~ Put a rubber band around your wrist and snap it lightly everytime you think of a bad thought! (One of my favorites!)
~ Knit or crochet.
~ Anything that keeps your mind busy will help you!
~ Think of something that will make
you happy! Only you know how to calm yourself best!

A lot of times anxiety is so bad we can't sleep. Here are some tips to help you rest better.

Insomnia:

~ Give up the fight for sleep. Let sleep find you.
~ Don't excercise before bed.
~ Don't drink caffeine before bed.
~ If you wake up in the middle of the night stay in bed and let your body rest.
~ Set a sleep routine. Go to bed at the same time every night.
~ Read before going to bed to tire your eyes. Don't read to much, that could stimulate you and keep you from feeling tired.
~ Drink a warm glass of milk.
~ Acceptance. Accept your anxiety and worry and let it flow away.
~ Try to create feelings of peace and relaxation.
~ Medicines can also help, but only after all else fails. Try other techniques first, before talking to your doctor about meds. You don't want to depend on medication in order to sleep.
