Revenge Not So Sweet
The prequel to Guilt and Forgiveness, this story is set in Paris, in the year 1806.
Helen of Athens had come to Paris, the Eternal City, fleeing from a past that had haunted her for over 3,000 years. She was trying very hard to forget that she had once commited murder.
The Greecian woman had loved the immortal Methos with all of her heart, but when their love had grown sour, she could not live with that. So she did something absolutely horrible. She murdered Methos' wife and daughter in a jealous rage.
Knowing that she had brought the wrath of the eldest and strongest of all immortals down upon her, she ran away from the scene of the crime, and has kept running every since.
But she could only run far, only hide so long, before Methos found her and drove her off of Holy Ground by threatening mortals she cared about on the outside.
This time, she had decided not to go to the convent, knowing that was exactly what he would expect. She just decided to live her life, and wait for him to come. She was getting tired of running after all. She didn't want to die, but she didn't want to spend eternity like thuis either. So she decided just to stay in Paris and wait for him to come.
