Helen had already done everything in her power, ditching the high heels, running like hell, but fate had simply not been kind to her this night. She had mistakenly went down the wrong alley, and instead of taking the short cut that would lead her straight home to the comfort and safey of her weapon, she had just ran down a dead end. There was nothing at the end of the alley but impenetrable brick wall, and if her life had not depended upon this escape, the situation might actually have been considered funny.
So Helen of Athens moved backwards, towards the wall and did the only thing she could do, waited silently for this man to step out of the shadows and end her 4500 year old existence.
She focused on the sound of the footsteps drawing near her, her heart pounding, her hands sweaty. If it were possible for an immortal to die of fright that would be the only way to make this evening any worse.
She stood motionless, for there was no where left for her to run. She could do nothing but except her fate.
When her pursuer finally did step into the light and she saw his face, her terror only intensified.
"Methos!" She exclaimed. Now that Helen knew who it was who had literally backed her into this corner, she knew how unlikely it was that she would ever being leaving this alley.
