NEWS UPDATE

01-2002

Holoskanks is Nicholas Marker, an independent recording artist specializing in techno, industrial, noise and experimental music. Nicholas Marker, previously known as Son of Sky, made several changes in musical direction in the last 3 years. Under the name Son of Sky, Marker was distributed solely by his own record company Black Sky, which is being now re-created as a private recording studio. Unfortunately Black Sky no longer releases the Son of Sky's albums (1991-1997), but a Greatest Hits Collection featuring 15 songs is available on CD through www.mp3.com/sonofsky .Changes for Nicholas Marker happened in 1997-1998 with the collaboration of noise maker, producer, writer and performer Alexander Wheill. Wheill and his company WRECK AGE, has produced and distributed the first Nicholas Marker project HOLOSKANKS Pornaudiophy. In November 1998, A Cosmic Noise Compilation Vol.2: More Noise Byte Collective was released from Wreck Age Recordings. Included amongst known underground noisicians, a track from Holoskanks called Pornoism. After the cult following of Pornaudiophy, Marker once again with Pornoism, delivered the goods with a techno-noise vibe exploiting a very disturbing message. A warning memo was included and distributed with every album to alert the listener of the danger and mixed emotions the song may reflect.

In July 1999, Nicholas Marker released 3 new tracks named Ultrateenrated for A Cosmic Noise Compilation Vol 3: 1999 The Noise Acapolypso!

In December 1999 just before the Y2K bug, as a teaser for the upcoming album, Marker has released on Wreck Age Recordings a Singles Re-Mixes of the song PROTEEN. The EP, contains 5 explicit songs with differents sound and different sex scenes. The EP is called PROTEEN: NEX SEX SCENES REMIXES. Proteen (edit clean mix) is appearing on the Montreal Techno Compilation. www.mp3.com/technocom

Around June 2000, Marker released a second album entitled Bubble Gum Teen Teaser. According to Wreck Age Recordings head cheeze's Alexander Wheill, 'It's the best!'. This time around the album is more Techno, made for the Raves and Dance clubs, but in reality offensivity is part of the background/foreground noise! It reaches exploitation of Teens' addictions to the limits of depravity. The album will be release shortly through Wreck Age on CD, but for now, due to lack time & money, the album is available at Wreck Age Recordings.

After this release, Marker was undoubtful to make another album/release, only time will tell if Marker is willing. For now Marker has to finish long overdue guitar works on the upcoming DFS album, Phase 2: Cloned Out and also a solo album with a totally new direction/sound. It is confirmed, Marker is letting go the projects (Holoskanks and DFS) for an undertermined time, only because time is an issue.
