Nicholas John Hand

About 30 minutes later the nurse announced "we are going to have this baby - get the doctor stat" Neither Leslie or Dave knew that the baby was that far along! The next 20 minutes of pushing was pretty rough, but soon Nicholas John Hand arrived into the world kicking and screaming.... literally! From the moment the doctors placed him on the observation table he could lift his little head up.... quite a strong little guy!

John and Janet strolled in just having had lunch, a little confused as to why there was a baby in the room with us!!!

We arrived at Sarasota Memorial Hospital first thing in the morning ready to be induced. The morning was fairly uneventful, while Dave and Leslie sat around in the delivery room and watched the 2000 Olympics.

Fairly early on Leslie got the Epidural, so contractions were hardly noticeable. Grandparents John & Janet arrived when Leslie was about 2 cm dialated, so decided to go come back later since it was going to be a long day.............
