[Nic Totopoulous is standing backstage at a local TNT Wrestling event.  He is putting on a very multi-coloured shirt.  He slips his left are through as we hear the door open to the right.  Just then Totopoulous' friend with the long blonde hair walks in the room.  He is wearing his wrestling gear as he walks up to Totopoulous.]

Hey man, what's going on?

Not very much actually.  I was just getting ready to go down to the ring.

Hey, you've got a match?

No, I'm going to talk to the fans.

Why?  You gonna ask them why they didn't help you last Sunday night?

Hey, you know why I lost.  Segrada hit me in the head with the belt.

But it was no disqulification.  I mean the loss wouldn't be that bad if it was Mirror that was pinned, but hey man, it was you that pinned.  I really didn't expect that from you.  I didn't think you'd win, but I didn't think you'd get pinned either.

Why didn't you think I'd win?  You know I'm better than Thunder and Mirror.

Of course I do.  But your head isn't into it right now.  You're simply fooling yourself.  You think you're giving it your all, but you aren't.  If you were you would have won that match with ease.  You're better than both of them.

Well you know I am a pure wrestler.  I wrestle better without and stipulations.

Shut up man.  That's the biggest load of horse crap I've ever heard and you know it.  It doesn't matter what type of match it is, you should be able to win at anything.  If you can't win a no disqualification match against two chumps like that, then you never deserved to be the World Champion.  This is professional wrestling.  You've got to be ready for any kind of match against anyone on any given night.  If you aren't, then you are in the wrong business.

I worked hard for five months to keep that title around my waist.  I never took a night off.  I wrestled in every match thrown at me, and against anyone thrown at me.  I'm not going to let you convince me otherwise.

Hey it's working.

What's working?

I'm getting you a little pissed off.

That was your plan?  Thatnks.

Of course it was.  I'm trying to give you a little edge.  You're getting soft bud.  You aren't the same as you used to be.  I need to whip you into shape you wuss.  You need me man.

No I don't.  You're just some wrestling flunky.  You'll never amount to anything.  What I need is right here, in my heart.

Well you said that Segrada is the reason you lost right?

Well ya.

So maybe if I was at ringside, that wouldn't have happened.  Maybe I would have been able to stop him from hitting you.

Well of course you could have.  I've always prided myself on being able to do things on my own though.

Always?

Well okay fine, recently.  But still, I'd still like to win my title back on my own.  I don't want to have to depend on someone else to get my victories.

You won't be depending on me.  I'll be the moral support.  I'll also be the equalizer at ringside.

No, listen, I can't have you getting involved.  This is my mess, and I'll get myself out of it on my own.  I'll get the victories I need, and I'll do it by myself.

Whatever you say chief.

So what are you doing here right now anyway?

I had another test match.

Oh ya?  How did it go?  How did the first one go too?

Well I'm going up against guys that don't belong on the roster, so it's been no problem.  I mean look at me, I'm not even breaking a sweat.

Ya, you don't look like you just wrestled a match.

Well that's because I barely did wrestle one.

Ha, the day of the try-out, I remember them well.  But then I became a big star, and I don't need try-outs anymore.

Hey listen.  I shouldn't be doing them either all right?  I'm better than all those pieces of garbage.

Oh, of course you are.

Hey shut up man I am.

Jeez, just relax.  I'm joking.  I know what you can do, I'll give you credit where it's due.  Man, you need to loosen up a little.

I'm just frustrated because Marcel should be able to see that I am better that these pieces of garbage.

Trust me.  Marcel is a fair guy.  He'll give you what you deserve when he feels you deserve it.  Look at me.  I have done it all in TNT Wrestling, and it's because Marcel saw my talent.  He didn't care what I did else where, he knew what I was capable of, and he gave me the ball.  I ran with it and became the most recognisable face in TNT Wrestling.  He doesn't care about NCW or EFW, he only cares about TNT Wrestling, and that's all he should care about.  So just suck it up and beat everyone put in your path.  You'll be fine don't worry.

Of course I'll be fine.  But I want to get in the ring with guys like White Thunder, Sean Segrada, and especially Michael Edwards.  That guy thinks he's so cool and so great.  That guy has a great looking girlfriend, he's got lots of money.  I'd just love to knock him off his high horse.

Well you might be aiming a little high.

Why?  You think I can't beat them?

Of course you can, but you've got to work your way up like everyone else.  You aren't going to get a free ride because you're my friend.  You're going to have to push through the ranks like I did.

Ya I know, I just have no patience.

Well you should get some.  Now listen.  I've got to get down to the ring.  I'll talk to you when I get back all right?

Sure thing.  You aren't going to wear that stupid shirt are you?

Sure I am.

No you aren't.  Just put on a T-shirt, then go out there.

[Totopoulous' friend hands him a T-shirt as Totopoulous takes of his current shirt.]

Take that.  You won't look so stupid.

Thanks.  Later bud.

Later.

[Totopoulous walks out the door as he puts on the shirt.  Totopoulous' friend sits down on the bench and begins to get unchanged as the scene fades to black.]
