PSYCHO'S COMMENTARY

                             August 24th, 2002

Hello Everyone. What a week it has been. It's had it's highs and it's lows. I'm not going to hold anything back here. I'm going to tell all here. And if anybody doesn't like that, then that is their problem. On Thursday, August 15th, in Monticello, I had more fun wrestling than I've had in a long time. Imagine my surprise when I'm told that I'll be turning heel for one night only. The fans who had been cheering me on mere moments ago, began to boo me heavily once I made my heel turn. They even started calling me the "Green Booger" LOL. Of course, it was all just part of the show and I went out afterwards to sign autographs. From there we went on to Beaver where I was a face again. We had a fairly large crowd attending as there were at least 200 people in attendance. It was one of the largest crowds any independent wrestling promotion in Utah has had. At this show, I successfuly defended my Hometown Entertainment Cruiserweight Title against Storm. A guy from the Salt Lake Tribune was even there taking pictures. It was a very successful show I think. When I got back into town I noticed that somebody had posted on the Utahprowrestling message board asking APW why Psycho wasn't booked on the last Sandy Station show. I guess Draven and I were his favorite local wrestlers. I wrote a response to this fan thanking him for the kind words. Now, let me tell you, I hardly ever post on the Utahprowrestling site. In fact, I think this was the first time I had posted anything on there. I don't even really visit the site that often. Maybe once a week, normally. There are a few reasons for this. When I was first told about the idea of Utahprowrestling I thought it was a great idea....If done right. Now, I've been asked if I was running it. No, I have nothing to do with the Utahprowrestling site. If I did, the rankings would actually make sense. It seems like too much of an APW site to me than an actual Utahprowrestling site. And there is so much negativity on the board. Now I'm not talking about negativity that is part of an angle. I mean, too many cheap shots that shouldn't even be placed in a public forum like that. Do I know who is running the site? Yes, I do. And you can know too just by looking at who the site revolves around the most, and by looking at the rankings. Now, Damien had posted a challenge to me on the site, and I thought I'd answer it. I realized how popular the Los Mochis are and I thought it would be kind of cool to maybe start an angle with the current popular wrestlers in the APW and myself seeing as how last year I was the most popular wrestler in Utah. So a "Los Mochis fan"  posted something about me, and I got to thinking. Maybe it was time to turn heel and Los Mochis could be the faces and I could play a heel role and base it on real happenings. I thought it could have been huge business. So I listed all of these facts that backed up how popular I was, but I did it in such a way that it would turn everybody against me (or so I hoped). It turns out I did such a good job being this egotistical heel that people started to believe I actually was shooting with them and thought I had a problem with the Los Mochis and all these other wrestlers. The fact is I don't. I think the APW has a ton of talented wrestlers. "'Dreamer" Danny Scott, Los Mochis, Hworang, and Blitz stick out as the most talented bunch of newcomers. They are great. And let me tell you. I saw the last Sandy Station show and thought they did a great job.  I'll get back to them in just a second though. So I'm in "character" trash talking with other wrestlers and suddenly somebody wants to take a cheap shot and shoot on me for real. Wouldn't you just know that they would be "anonymous". They really should have signed it as cowardly piece of crap. So I e-mailed Steve (one of APW's current management) and asked what he thought of a possible heel turn for me. He said there were some "far more serious issues that need to be addressed". And what really pissed me off was this "A major problem is your willingness or lack there of to follow the direction of the promoter or fellow worker as to the outcome of the match.I heard that in Cedar City you failed to end the match with Jason Ray as it was planned, in pro wrestling this simply is not done. Safety and attitude are very important to us."
What a bunch of absolute BS that is. That is a complete lie. The finish that happened in Cedar City is the only finish that was talked about. Hmm....I wonder who told Steve *that* lie? Maybe Jason Ray? Now I don't understand why Jason Ray would tell that lie, but it doesn't surprise me.There have actually been a lot of lies told to me in APW. Is it too much to tell a guy the truth to his face. That would be class.  Like Jason Ray has always said "Look out for #1" and I guess that is what Jason Ray is doing. He's all nice with everybody and then he gets in good with the head of APW and soon enough he's "management". Then he gets to keep down who he wants to and raises up certain other people who he thinks will benefit him. I don't understand why Jason would stab me in the back like that, but I don't really care anymore. Here's the thing. I'm going to part ways with APW. I haven't been happy there for months. And it's a hostile evironment. Never to your face though. I haven't been appreciated there for a while now. I never would have expected that from Jamon though. A select few of us put Jamon in charge of what was then Intermountain Pro Wrestling. Jamon was a trusted friend who we thought was the best man for the job. Truth be told, Jamon didn't even want to be promoter. We had faith in him though. We were all close from the beginning. Then others got put in charge and we get kicked to the curb. People who damn near killed themselves building that promotion. That's loyalty for you. But then, loyalty doesn't exist in pro wrestling does it? That's ok though. I'm happier with Hometown Entertainment anyway. I actually get paid very well there. APW doesn't even pay it's wrestlers. Hmm....let's see. I could wrestle in a promotion that wasn't fun anymore and not get paid a dime for my hard work or I could wrestle in a promotion that appreciates me, has shows more frequently, where I can wrestle in front of decent sized crowds, and travel, and get paid pretty well. Seems like a no brainer doesn't it?
Now, like I said, a lot of APW's talent is really talented. But most of them aren't allowed to get bookings for themselves elsewhere to make money or anything like that unless Steve and Jamon give the "Ok". I think that's crap. It's really holding these talented wrestlers back. They could be making money wrestling other shows on the side, but they aren't "allowed" to. That's a shame that those APW wrestlers are treated that way. They deserve better. After the last Sandy Station show I went up to a lot of them and told them they had a great match. I really meant that. They are great athletes. And I wish them the best of luck.
