CLUB NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

  •   "JUST ASK!!!"

  • The Mullet Festival was a big success this weekend.  Thanks to everyone who worked.  Special thanks to John Sullivan, Bill Brunkow, George Murphy and Vern McGraw for heading up the effort.  As most of you know, it was a little different this year.  We used precooked peanuts which allowed us to stay ahead of the crowd, and we sold ice cream which was a big success.  Again, thanks to everyone who participated. Pictures are on our web site.

  •   THIRD REMINDER!! There WILL NOT be a meeting on October 28th.  There WILL be a HALLOWEEN PARTY instead on October 29th. I'm sure Maribeth will have more on it today. DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE DISH YOU SIGNED UP FOR!!

  • RECAP OF LAST WEEK'S BREAKFAST--County Commissioner Ray Sansom spoke to a full house.  All were enlightened regarding county infrastructure projects and other issues including the proposed conference center, parks, courthouse security and the effects of unfunded state mandates.  Clearly, Mr. Sansom listens to his constituents and his votes reflect their interests.  He received a enthusiastic response for his comments and for fielding many questions. Thanks again, Ray! JOHN DAVIS was inducted as his wife looked on beaming.  Welcome, John!  Then there was Danny Kittrell, Awards Chief, prodding high participation efforts and encouraging attempts to look like Howard Hill.

OPPORTUNITIES

  • Valparaiso Elementary School has an immediate need for 2-3 mentors to help young students. Please see Gerry Harbaugh or Tim Parsons for information.

  • Youth Services needs a project chair for K-mart Christmas Shopping Day  as soon as possible. Please see Gerry Harbaugh or Sandy Foster if interested.

  • Need someone to run the Pancake Breakfast this year.  This is a great opportunity for a newer member.  See Joe Fiorello if you are interested.

WEB SITE USE

  • Please start using the web site.  There is a lot of information there now that will be updated weekly.  No excuses for not knowing what's going on!!!!!
