Even as Sony was putting the finishing touches on their CD-based PlayStation (a system they had previously worked with Nintendo on), Nintendo was well on its way to releasing the Nintendo 64. With strength in exclusive titles and instant data access, Nintendo's cart-based machine held its own against the high-capacity CD format touted by Sony's swift-selling PlayStation. Nintendo would give in to the future soon enough, but nobody stopped them from making a few very sweet games for this machine; chief among these is their masterpiece The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.
