Rice with Chorizo

1 Cup finely chopped onion
1/4 Cup olive oil
1 Cup uncooked rice
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp Chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
28 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup sliced chorizo
1 small can mushrooms

In a large skillet over medium low heat cook chopped onions in oil for 2-3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Cover and simmer 20-25 minutes, checking often and adding more tomato juice as necessary.
