• for almost a year, many regular chatters in yahoo chat help thought they knew a chatter named 'nic'. supposedly 'nic' was a 22 year old woman , a student at University of Texas in El Paso, studying to be a teacher. working at a local school. she also told many of her heart condition and her long wait for heart surgery. 'nic' seemed to always have a nice word for all.... and was able to encourage good behavior in the most errant and wild chatter.�
• over the course of time, she and another chatter began an online relationship, with plans to meet when she 'graduated' in may of 2000. those who spoke with her in voice chat and on the phone, spoke of how weak and sick she sounded. and all hoped her health would improve soon. and all hoped that she and her online friend would be able to meet....... and continue their affections for each other in real life.�
• but 'tragedy' struck. on may 8th 2000... supposedly 'nic' died it was her 'cousin' she_wolf1 who came and told of her demise. now, .just 4 days before her heart surgery. the cousin wove an almost impossible story later. of how there was no funeral, because 'nics' father was deep cover dea. and to publicize her death would jeapordize his life.the whole family. but that lie didnt come out till much much later.
• the regular chatters were devastated and many sent flowers and cards to her 'family'. over the next few weeks, dozen of chatters from yahoo and cheeta gathered their thoughts and remebrances and compiled a memorial page to the person they thought they had lost..........noone wanted to believe such a tragic thing could happen. but based on her chat room behavior, noone really gave it a second thought. for a while.............�
• over time, a few noted that one of 'nic's' ids would flash online then offline quickly. the first thought was that some sicko had hacked the account. but soon her online friend told that it was 'nic's' cousin. probably checking her mail and dealing with account stuff.�
• over the next 6 monthes, 'nic's' friend and her 'cousin' shared stories and pictures of nic. and plans were made to go visit 'nic's' family and meet them. to gain closure. then things got weird............the 'cousin' began getting weird. demanding. abusive to a certain extent. as time grew closer for the trip basic requests were denied, she started taking about having to go to peru, and how 'nic' loved him so much, and that having his child would make her life complete.
• but she wanted no contact with him. just a sperm donation.� graduation. plans were scrapped. with no phone number or ability to contact offline. and and prompting from friends that things didnt add up. finally he sat down......... and looked at emails......... and looked at headers............ and gathered ips........ and compared and ran the ips at www.samspade.org . friends also gave him ips from emails and icq and the page address. one had even contacted the web master and asked if the page was current. and was told...'we dont list dead staff'.

when he gathered the ips (your computers address on the web/ not always the same from day to day........but for many......it is........) and ran them at sam spade and another person ran the ips on neotrace. the results were the same. the emails from 'nic' and those from her cousin were the same.

�exactly the same. despite that they supposedly didnt live together. and that 'nic' and her cousin both had emails coming from an elementary school in texas or the same road runner cable ip............. despite the cousin not being an educator......supposedly, and not living in same place.�

now i certainly dont encourage you to be suspicious of everyone you chat with.........but if you have a reason to believe, or a feeling that two chatters (or more) are actually the same person......... i do encourage you to utilize the option of full headers in your mail system. and use samspade to trace the ips. usually you will receive information on the geographic area the email originated from at least. so . if the email ip traces to newyork...........and the person says they are in california....... might not be. and if the same ip is on emails from 2 different chat or online personas........good chance its just one person..........

• with extreme courage.....and extreme nausea, he confronted 'nic'/cousin with the evidence. over a year of emails with the same 2 ips prevelent. stories that didnt ring true.things that were iffy to begin with and under scrutiny. quickly crumbled. and she confessed. none of the pictures were her.....none of the story was true.......�
• she was not a 22 year old student with a heart problem.....not that we believe the current version of her saga....but the current version is thats she is really a 37 year old woman.....married...with 2 children. she threatened to make his life hell, and alternately,, offered to send him large amounts of money to forget all about it.

• despite the efforts of the regs to keep folks aware that this predatory and ill person was still lurking in yahoo chat help, she managed to start another relationship.this time with another young man. under yet another id. he was so devastated whe he realized folks had been right.he hasnt come back to chat. and he contacted the maker of this page. at the same time, we noticed again, she was involved with another man in chat. and� again, folks tried to argue and protest...but a simple ip and mail check.and again..same ip. same excite email account..and same road runner cable adress in elpaso texas.�
• her new ids> confirmed by 5� chatters each> ur_royal_rudeness, sleepy_ins0mniac, (only confirmed by 2 chatters so far/ no ip verification YET> bunny_h0p_queen, blowinginthewind431, letting_g0_is_hard_t0_d0).......there are more..... but you get the idea. (you say thats your id? and its not nic? email this page. and it will be removed . )
• now the funny thing is. ur_royal_rudeness protested vehemently it wasnt her....yet removed the yahoo profile ~BEFORE~ the new info was posted. and 'she' told no less than 2 chatters in yahoo chat help a name. she said it was hers. only one problem. the name she gave belongs to a different chatter. that was easy to verify as the other chatter has a domain. and the who is infois public. it is assumed this is how nic got her name.
• when confronted with this info. she gave yet another name. and demanded that she be met in phoenix this summer to prove who she is.

it could happen to you........�� more weirdness...... seems like nicole is a popular name for fakers to use on the net........
