Vitals and Info. The page states that William Elliott, served aboard the Harvest Moon from February 22, 1865 to March 9, 1865. He was onboard the Harvest Moon when it was torpedoed and sunk near Georgetown, SC. His letter to his brother-in-law, Dr. George B. Todd, Acting Assistant Surgeon on the monitor Montauk, describes conditions on the Harvest Moon and comments on the sinking.
He bought a steam Locomobile in 1901 which was donated to, and is on display at the Smithsonian Institute Museum in Wash. D.C.
