Additional info:

According to source, he lived in Manlius, N.Y., owning and operating "Todd's Mill".

According to Kathy Crowell of the Manlius Historical Society, "The Todds owned mills at Whetstone Rd. (earlier known as Todd's Mill Rd.) just south of Manlius Village, and also just downstream from the old mills on Pompey Center Rd. John and his son, Timothy, purchased the mills in February 1836 after having leased them for several years. Originally from Connecticut, they settled in Manlius in 1811. In June 1852, Timothy sold the gristmill on the property to Coburn and Merrill who converted it into a papermill. In 1854 Coburn and Merrill sold the property back to Todd, and ultimately there were other investors. In 1855 Todd and Blood's papermill was worth about $8,000. Straw worth $1,500 in fiscal year 1855 was used at the Whetstone papermill to produce 1,500 reams of "n. paper" worth $7,500. In March 1857 Todd mortgaged part of his property to Wm. M. Swain, and it is possible the "n. paper" noted above was "newspaper".

There is a Timothy Todd listed in the 1840 census for Manlius, Onondaga Co., NY.
