This is a photograph I took of the John La Farge hand-painted stained glass windows in the front hallway of the second floor in my residence hall, The William Watts Sherman House, which happens to be on the National Register for Historic Properties. The W. Watts Sherman house is considered to be the the landmark construction for the American Queen Anne Style of architecture. Initially designed by architect H. H. Richardson the W. Watts Sherman House was added to and updated several times, even graced by the likes of McKim, Mead and White, designers of such buildings as the American Academy of Rome, The Boston Public Library, The Rhode Island State Capitol, and Rosecliff Mansion.
I caught this scene at precisely the right moment. These windows face WNW and I caught the sun setting, sending brilliant ribbons of sunlight through the stained glass. I grabbed my camera and captured this.
