Hartley Bay Area July, 1998. This was one of the best week long camping trips ever. Nine Days of solitude on the famous French River. We headed out from the Hartley Bay Marina access road, and camped mainly in both the Wahnapitei River and, Wahnapitei Bay area of the French River system. This is some of the best fishing that Ontario has to offer. Walleye, Bass, Pike, Muskie, Catfish, Perch, etc. etc. We only explored a small location of this vast waterway, but for some reason some of us Hookers still return yearly, to explore even more of the beauty this river system offers. Imagine yourself actually saying, "Damn, I am so tired of catching pike, or bass. Then before you know it, you got a lunker walleye or catfish online, or maybe that was a huge muskie that just peeled your drag for a second or two, just to tease you of what's out there. Since this was a crown land camping trip, some of the many site references for more info on the French River would be the following.
Check back later in the summer, For photos of us on our trip to the French River area. |
