Companions of the York Rite
Bodies of Freemasonry for New Hampshire:
Your Grand York Rite
Presiding Officers have been busy planning the year with Visitations,
Chapter Festivals, and other such matters. We enjoyed a good time at the
Grand Commander’s Picnic held on July 20th.
This year, we opened up the invitations to all Commandery Dias Offices and
families and invited our Grand Chapter and Grand Council Line Officers as well.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the festivities.
This past weekend, your
Right Eminent Grand Commander attended the 51st Annual Assembly of the York
Rite Sovereign College of North America. I am currently enjoying the title of
Right Eminently Distinguished Grand Governor for New
Hampshire for that august Body. I was surprised when
I was invited to join the Distinguished Guests and was
received as the Grand Commander of N.H.
New
Hampshire was also recognized
there by the attendance of Most Illustrious William F. Curtis, Grand Master of
Cryptic Masons for the State of N.H.
Most Illustrious Curtis was honored this year by being
inducted into the Distinguished Order of the Purple Cross. He was further recognized by being chosen as one of the three
exemplars for the Class. He was knighted by the former
Governor-General, Most Pre-Eminently Distinguished Brother Gene H. Schaber
personally. That was quite an honor. Next year the Sovereign
College meets in Cincinnati,
Ohio and in 2010 in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania.
