MEET YOUR TEACHER!
Dianne Hartness
Newberry High School English Department

I am a graduate of Newberry High School, class of 1995, and the University of South Carolina, class of 2000.
I also recently graduated with my Master's of Education in divergent learning from Columbia College.

In my four years at NHS, I have taught English I, II, and III, as well as Journalism I, II, and III.  I am also the visual ensembles instructor for the band.  This includes choreography and design for the NHS Color Guard.  I've enjoyed working with the students at NHS on such projects such as Homecoming and Prom.
Besides teaching, I enjoy dancing, reading, writing, exercising, and shopping!  My favorite band is the Dave Matthews Band.  My favorite movie is Steel Magnolias.  My favorite book is, currently, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
I am a second generation graduate from the University of South Carolina.  I am the biggest Gamecock fan ever!  While in college, I participated in the Carolina Band and the Delta Zeta Sorority.  I was recently selected to the Young Alumni Council of the Carolina Alumni Association.
