A Brief Bio:
After receiving a B.E.E. from Rensselaer, I took a job with The Foxboro
Company in Massachusetts, where I met Ruth. She and our kids were born
there (David, Peter, Pamela, Steven).
I got carried away with night school: MBA, Northeastern JD,
Suffolk University Law School LLM, Boston University Law School.
I taught for seven years as an adjunct in the Bentley College (Waltham,
MA) Masters in Taxation Program.
We left Massachusetts in 1984 for Burroughs Corporation in Detroit,
where I was International Tax Counsel. Burroughs purchased Sperry in 1986
to create Unisys Corporation, and we moved to the Philadelphia area. In
1989, we moved to Utah where I took a position as VP Tax and Tax Counsel
for Thiokol Corporation (since renamed Cordant Technologies Inc.) Alcoa
purchased us in May 2000, and I retired at the end of October 2000.
Retired is a relative word. I have become "Of Counsel" to Miller
& Chevalier, a Washington DC law firm specializing in tax matters.
I will work half time, and commute to Washington.
I have become an avid skier, golfer, and fisherman, and refuse to
leave my beloved mountains. I was 48 when I took my first ski lesson, so
there is hope for anyone!
Our tenth grandchild (a girl) arrived November 24, 2000. The count
is now six boys and four girls.
Paul adds this: My bio is missing a grandchild!! Number eleven (another
girl) was born 9/23/01. [April 2004]
