#1- Ed Beflour (Houston Aeros)
Analysis- He is arguable the best goaltender in the league. He has already won a World Cup with Houston and has put up Vezina like numbers in every season he's played so far. He's getting on in years and will be 35 come Free Agency next off season.
Potential Suitors- Don't rule out a return to Houston as most team are currently happy with their goaltending situations. But dont be surprised if Belfour wants to hit the open market to see what teams are willing to pay for upgrades.
Potential Salary- $8-$10 Million a season

#2- Dominik Hasek (Cleveland Crusaders)
Analysis- Again, we see a franchise goaltender who may be on the market. The reason Belfour is ahead of him on the rankings is because of the awards he's won, but Hasek's skill set is still just as good. Though, like Belfour, he will also be 35 next season.
Potential Suitors- Hasek may be temtped to look at the open market like and go to a team with a chance for winning a championship. Even though we shouldnt rule out a return to the Buck Eye State, the Crusaders may want to condsider looking at possible replacements.
Potential Salary- $8-$10 Million a season

#3- Felix Potvin (Winniepg Jets)
Analysis- Many people have Potvin above Hasek or Belfour or both in this Free Agency season due to the fact that Potvin is still in the prime of his career at 29 years of age as of the next off-season. He a fast, agile goalie that can get the job done.
Potential Suitors- Because everyone seems to have their goaltending shored up there arent many teams that will get into a bidding war over him. Besdies, the Jets gave up a lot to get him and Alex Mogilney in an off-season trade, so they probublky wont lewt him go with out a fight.
Potential Salary- $6-$9 Million a season

#4- Jeff Hackett (St.Louis Blues)
Analysis- Hackett's price tag went up a little last season as he help take the sub .500 team all the way to the World Cup finals. He re-signed a 1 year deal with St.Louis to prove that he can handle the load of being a true #1 which could help or him come the negotiations.
Potential Suitors- He seems to be in the same boat as Potvin, as most teams seem to be content with their goaltending so St. Louis might the most logical place to go, assuming they want him bcak.
Potential Salary- $5-$9 Million a season
Signed With-
#6- Grant Fuhr (Chicago Blackhawks)
Analysis- Fuhr was the 2nd half of the huge St. Louis turn around until Hackett forced the Blues hand in dealing him to Chicago where he is again religated to the 1B role. He is definatly on in his years, but is a great teacher for up and coming goalies.
Potential Suitors- Fuhr may have to seriosuly consider retirment in the off-season as the may not be use for him, unless he's willing to sign on as an back up or a 1B goalie to teach the next crop on superstars. Chicago probubly wont have him back due to the emergance of Turco.
Potential Salary- $1-$2 Million a season

#7- Stephane Fiset (Edmonton Oilers)
Analysis- This former 2nd tier starter has found himself religated to the back-up role this season on the Oilers bench and seems to be where he will finnish out his career. He maybe more tempting than Bill Ranford as he's actully been a starter in the NvW in years past.
Potential Suitors- It seems in this league a back-up goaltender goes to the highest bidder, regardless of the need for him. Though amny think Fiset will have too much pride to be a #3 goaltender, he may just go where the money is. Don't expect him back in Edmonton though.
Potential Salary- $750K-$1.5 Million a season
Signed With-
#7- Bill Ranford (Baltimore Blades)
Analysis- Bill Ranford is anotehr tempting back-up goalie that can step in if a teams' #1 goes down. He has been the back-up in Baltimore since the league's inception 3 seasons ago.
Potential Suitors- It will be interesting to see if Ranford will be willing to take a pay cut to stay OR if Baltimore would be willing to spend $2mil+ to keep their back-up goalie.
Potential Salary- $750K-$2 Million a season
