| This years worst team got what was coming to them as the Calgary Flames are the winners of the 1999 NvW Draft Lottery. There is no clear cut #1 prospect this year but a few players bidding for that honour. It would all depend on what Calgary GM, Cole Wilkinson, feels that he needs to improve right away. The St. Louis Blues, who owns the New England Whalers 1st round pick, went from the 6th overall position to the 8th, where the Ottawa Senators went from 8th to 6th, jumping to spots. "This is better than I could ever expect" says Ottawa GM, Bruce Sprackman. "We didnt expect much cause we knew the odds were against us. We're very happy with the result. The league is now in waiting on who Calgary will take 1st overall this year. |
