| This past year, Doug Gilmore returned to the Maple Leafs. He knew the 2002-2003 season would be his last year, so he wanted to spend it with his favorite and most loved team. It didn't end how he wanted it. He said he wanted to play with the leafs to retire, but instead, he got badly injured and only was able to play two games with them. Even though Gilmore now is retired, his name would always be with Leafs, and he would be named one of the leafs greatest all- time players! |

| Since the begining of time, goalies never had a helmet. One of Leafs goaltenders played a game, and got the puck clipped in his face. He had to leave the game with an injury. The back-up goaltender came in to play. After minutes of play, he also got his face clipped with the puck, sending him out of the game. Toronto had no goaltender left to play the game. They ended out by using a player and giving him goaltender pads. This player played defence and goaltender. At the end, Leafs still won. The Maple Leafs goaltender then created the helmet, and was the first ever goaltender to wear a helmet. |

| Toronto Maple Leafs had a 16 game point streak broken after they played New York Islanders. Toronto lost to a devistating 3-1. The first goal that was scored was by number 16, Darcy Tucker. Two years ago in the playoffs, the leafs played the Islanders. Darcy Tuckey smashed into Micheal Peca, making Peca leave the game with an injury. No, not only the game, the season. The leafs in the first two games were leading the Islanders 2-0. New York then beat the leafs two strait games tying the games up by 2. That is when Tucker hit Peca, making Peca injured. Peca's injury was all Tuckers Fault, but not even a two minute penalty was called. Leafs then later on had the advantage, and went on to beet the Islanders. Evem if Darcy Tucker was traded to the Islanders, they will still boo him. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
