Armored Core 2 Review Written by Lee Thompson In my opinion armored core 2 is a great game with pluses and negatives. One good thing about this game is it has superior detail over Armored Core One it also had a better selection of weapons and parts. I also liked the fact that the missions gave some sort of a challenge and there were more of them. Another good thing is that it had the Arena mode in which you could improve your piloting skills, and get some extra money to upgrade your core for battle. Another good thing about AC2 is the optional parts feature; they help you out a lot in both missions and The Arena. I can guarantee unless you are the worlds best pilot you will need some of the optional parts to get through the game. The extensions help out just as much as the optional parts; I stuck mostly with the multi missile interceptor. Now on to the negatives I didn't really find a lot of these but there were some. I didn't like the fact that there was no sense of gravity/physics. No matter what weight class you used it would take the same amount of time to boost up. If you use a heavy weight you will like this because it will make your boosting as fast as a lightweight, but if you use a lightweight core you won't like the fact that a heavyweight boosts just as fast as you. I also didn't like the fact that there weren't many good arenas to fight in the best one would be the "Abandoned Highway." Another bad thing was all the energy weapons except for the Karasawa MK2 were weak compared to the shell rounds, in my opinion they should of kept the energy weapons a little stronger like it was in AC1. The worst negative of all was that in missions most of the enemies had HEP (Human Plus Enhancements) and it made it hard to defeat them unless you figured out their strategy. That is all I have for the negatives. If I were to give this game a rating from 1-10 I would give it an 8.5. Overall, this is a very good game.
