The 4x800 of Thrilla, Storm, Stew and Kate finished 4th and th 4x200 of Ty, Stokes, Dills and Fe finished 5th.

Congratulations to the Lady Knights who shined in so many ways. While some things were not what we were hoping for, we were able to overcome adversity in many forms to compete and succeed at a high level. Great job and enjoy the offseason.

To Christina, Amy, Serenity, Laura, Heather, Sarah M., Dills and Terri, the 2007 Seniors, will miss your presence and leadership and wish you the best in all your endeavours and adventures.
North Henderson is Second in the Regional Meet

For the third year in a row, the Lady Knights finish as the Regional Runner-up in the 2A West meet held at North Henderson. West Henderson won the girls meet and the West boys shared the team title with Brevard. The weather was very cooperative, raining only during our lunch break. Thanks to all the coaches, parents, and athletes that showed up to help out and be supportive.

The girls meet was a showcase of individual talent, with many athletes taking multiple honors. North Henderson's Felisha Garren and Sarah Willingham shared the Most Outstanding Track award. Fe took first in 4 events, the 200, 400, 4x200 and 4x400 while Thrilla took first in all 3 events she entered- the 1600, 3200 and 4x800. West Henderson's Lindsay Pate showed that she is indeed one of the best all-around athletes in the area by winning the discus and triple jump and finishing 4th in the shot put to be named Field MVP. Surry Central's Lacy Schimdt was also a double winner in both hurdles.

North Henderson had a good day in the relays, winning the 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 and finishing 3rd in the 4x100, the only team to qualify all four relays. Ty Williams finished 3rd in the 100 also qualify for the state meet.

The boys meet was one of contrast. West Henderson showed depth in many events while Brevard displayed talent in a few select events. Frankie Waters took Track Most Outstanding honors by winning in the 110 Hurdles, 100 Dash, 200 Dash and 4x200. Frankie raced, including preliminaries, 7 times on the day! WOW! East Henderson's Wesley Garren placed in three field events (1st Pole Vault, 3rd Long Jump, 5th Triple Jump to claim Most Outstanding Field honors. Josey Weaver of Madison was another double winner, winning the 1600 and 3200m runs.
