Mid-East -- NORTHERN HEIGHTS made a statement that it is still a contender in 3A, sweeping the Class 3-2-1A division of the Wamego Invitational. The Wildcat girls scored 57 points to beat Mission Valley by 42, getting top-10 efforts from Amy VanGundy (fourth), Kari Robidou (eighth) and Morgan Howard (10th). Heights' boys edged Riley County 79-88 as Justin Johnson captured individual medalist honors with a winning time of 17:13.77. Garett Frank (eighth) also was in the top 10.
