Through our Edgate site (http://nhcs.edgate.org), teachers can create a web page using School Notes.  This site will allow you to post classroom information to the web, providing another method of communication with parents.  School Notes provides a simple, but effective web page for posting homework, announcements, and other classroom related news.  You can add up to 20 links to favorite websites and 3 files attachments.  One image can be added to the top of your page.  It takes about 10 minutes to complete the registration and create your notes page.   IHere are some examples of School Notes pages:

Pro:  School Notes is quick and simple.  Once you get teh site established, it only takes a few minutes to login and update the page.  If you can type, you can create/maintain this page.  If you have IE 5.5 (Windows) or Netscape 7.1 (MAC), there is now a text tool that will allow you to format text, etc.  You can also use HTML to jazz it up!
Con:  School Notes is not a "website." Although you can create multiple school notes accounts and link them together, you would need to login to each site separately to update.
Workshops are offered at the individual schools and the Technolog Department that will walk you through the registration process and provide tips on using School Notes.  However, you can create a site on your own:
     1.  Go to the NHCS Edgate site at http://nhcs.edgate.org.
     2.  Click on the
"Find Your School" button on the left navigation bar.
     3.  Click on "Find Your School" link.
     4.  Look for Community Resources on the right and click on "Register Here."
     5.  Follow the onscreen directions.  Please read carefully!  Record your username and
password.  (No one at the school or district level will have access to that information.)
