The Community Crisis Response Team
The Community Crisis Response Team was formed in 1996 to respond to traumatic events in the schools or community, such as homocide, suicide, sudden death, assault, or robbery.  The team currently has over 55 active members who are trained and ready to respond to a crisis that occurs in New Hanover County in North Carolina.  The team is a collaborative effort between New Hanover County Schools and communtiy agencies and consists of student support personnel (school counselors, social workers, psychologists, and nurses), as well as mental health professionals from the community.  Each team member has received 9 hours of training in Traumatic Event Debriefing which includes providing crisis intervention for children.
