| Hello! My name is Heather Humphrey-Greer. For the past two years, it has been my pleasure to serve the parents, students, and staff of Ashley High School. I am orginally from Jacksonville, NC, but attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. During my college journey, I fell in love with not only Wilmington, but the unique people this port city has to offer. Therefore, after completing an internship with New Hanover County Schools and receiving my Bachelor's of Social Work, I begin to pursue my dreams of becoming a school social worker. It was around this time that I heard that two new schools would be opening in the Wilmington area.....later named Ashley High School & Murray Middle School. I remember during the construction of each of these schools, I would drive through hoping that in the future one of those offices would be mine. I applied for both positions and was fortunate to be offered the job of School Social Worker at Ashley High School. My first social work job has been both challenging and rewarding. Words can not express the overwhelming feeling of being the first school social worker at a new school. The memories, including the first year book, first prom, and of course first graduating class will always be in my heart.
