USCF MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

On the USCF membership form, there are several levels of membership, each with their respective prices and benefits.  The Economy Scholastic membership costs $6 less than the usual scholastic membership, but offers no magazine.  Parents of two scholastic players can save the $6 by getting a regular scholastic membership for one and the economy scholastic membership for the other.  One magazine will suffice for most households.

I would NOT recommend the economy scholastic membership as the only membership in the household.  I think that staying connected to other players and the chess world in general allows chess players the opportunity to grow in chess.  Chess Life will teach players to be stronger and keep them connected to each other through tournaments, clubs, etc.
