The North Harris County Texas
Sigma Kappa Alumnae Chapter

1999-2000 Highlights

In September, we met for a Pampered Chef party.

In September, we worked a food concession at the Texaco/Havoline Grand Prix in downtown Houston. Our ears are STILL ringing!

In October, we met at Suzanne's Bakery & Restaurant to have dinner together. We had a representative of the Houston Alzheimer's Association present. We presented her with our check from the Shell Houston Open.

In November, we met at Cindy Watson's for an early holiday party and our annual Christmas ornament exchange.

In December, we celebrated the most important event in the life of a Sigma Kappa: Founders' Day. And this year was extra special because our alumnae chapter celebrated its 10th anniversary. A wonderful luncheon was held at Raveneaux Country Club, complete with pictures and momentos of our first 10 years!

In January, we saw the famous (at least in Sigma Kappa circles) movie Mystic Pizza.

In February, we enjoyed the opening night's performance of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

In March, Deborah Bronner and Alison Love were our models at the NorthWest Panhellenic fashion show at their annual scholarship luncheon.

In March, Deborah Bronner shared her wonderful trip to Japan with us.

In April, we hit the lanes, bowling lanes that is!

In April, we also participated for the second year in the Shell Houston Open. Our booth was on the 18th fairway, a PRIME location, expecially on Sunday when the tournament went into a playoff. We couldn't keep the food and drink coming fast enough!

In May, we met at Jennifer Garber's new home and had a baked potato supper, with all the toppings!

In July, family, friends, and the Southeast Texas/Golden Triangle Alumnae Chapter joined us at an Astros game at beautiful new Enron Field.

In July, Linda Gaarder, Liz Rimer, and Carole Townsend attended the Sigma Kappa Convention in Marco Island Florida.
Here they enjoy the 125 Anniversay Banquet with Sherry DeVault, president of the Tri-Cities TN alumnae chapter, and Linda's room mate for the week.
