Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.

Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together....

The Story of
Rainbow Bridge
< go back to 'rocky' >
"Well loved and cared animals are the happiest ones of all. There are way too many of them die each and everyday without ever knowing our love and warmth. So don't ever hold back your tears when you miss them and don't ever let anyone tell you how to mourn your loss....."

"Rocky with his best friend, Doug (a.k.a. Douglas of Little Venus) at Doug's owner's house back in 1982. Rocky was 2 years old and Doug just one at the time.
Doug had passed away at the age of eleven.
Hope they are back together at the Rainbow Bridge playing together like they used to...

My friend, Yuko, had lost her tabby cat, Rin to a car accident in early spring of 2001. This is her story:
This is my beloved cat, Rin. He was my child, my better-half, and a big part of my life.
As a kitten, he got picked on by other cats in the neighborhood and would often come home badly injured. But funny enough, it never seemed to have had much effect on him and by the next day, he was eager to go back outside to look for another feline playmate. I remember that I sometimes followed him around the neighborhood like a worried mother.
And whenever he got sick or hurt, I would come home durng my lunch break to make sure he was okay. It always broke my heart to say good-bye and leave him home alone every morning when I was leaving for work.
He'd brought me so much joy and happiness into my life. All those years I'd spent with him made me realize how important he'd become to me; I'd loved him more than life itself. Having had him in my life was pleasure and I feel so lucky that he was mine.

-Rin, I hope to meet you again in your next life; I know you will come back to me when time comes. I love you and I always will.

Kuri, Yuko's new kitten has gone over to the Rainbow Bridege on the 8th of July 2002 from a dog attack. My condolence to Yuko for her loss:

I keep wishing to see him one more time. And I'm so sorry that he only got to live for ten short months.
I've known many cats in my life but I've never met such a feisty cat like my Kuri before. Sometimes he would run around the house and yank the curtain off and even managed to pull down the rod or get my clothes out of my room upstairs and drag them around the stairs up and down; he could be quite mischievious at times but that's the one thing I miss the most about him.
Although he wasn't very vocal in the begining, he'd learned to meow at me when he was hungry or when I came home and became quite expressive with his voice.
I wish he had a longer life. He is part of my family and as important as my other cat, Rin. I hope Kuri is getting along with his older brother, Rin at the Rainbow Bridge.

Please come back to me again in your next life as my cat. I will be waiting.
