He was wounded on December 13, 1862 at Fredericksburg, VA. Promoted to Full Sergeant Major on March 1, 1863. Promoted to Full Lieutenant 2nd Class on October 2, 1863(Co. C). Promoted to Full Lieutenant 1st Class on February 1, 1864 (Co. G) Killed Company B, 5th Infantry Regiment New Hampshire on June 3, 1864 in Cold Harbor, VA.
