North Hants Hash House Harriers - NH4

Stop Press - Help us celebrate 25th Birthday, Good Friday - 14th April - details below

NH4 is a running club based on the Hash House Harriers, a world wide group formed in the Far East during 1938. They run in the countryside of north Hampshire and Surrey. For other hashes in the UK check out this web site.

Based on the old style Hare and Hounds, Hashing is a cross country run of around 4 miles using a trail of flour previously set by the hare. The hounds follow the trail trying to find their way home. Young and old can take part, you run at your own pace.

NH4 was formed on Easter Good Friday in 1981 and has been running ever since. The members who generally live within the area of Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire borders, are of all ages and walks of life. They are a friendly bunch of people who like a bit of exercise and more importantly a sociable drink afterwards.

Check out the NH4 Hall of Fame, here are the Hash Scribe notes

Future Events

The Velcro's are doing it again!!!  The NH4 Mid-Summer away weekend will start on Friday 23rd June at the Swanage Priestway Caravan Park.

Usual Velcro format for the weekend, lots of drinking, variable eating, and some really great fine runs over some really steep hills, steam train ride to Corfe followed by a great run (set by Velcro m/f) and fine beer/grub.

I need numbers this week [27th Feb] to confirm the booking of the caravans, we also have to pay upfront now so I also need a £30 deposit per person ASAP or at the run next week. Final cost TBA, but it will be a bargain as usual!!! Most likely 40 to 45 for non members, somewhat less for members.

Fun running in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire.  The hash club welcomes people of all ages.  We have members who live in Farnborough, Fleet, Aldershot, Farnham, Alton, Guildford, and beyond.  If you like running but with a social element come running with us.  Some of us our fit runners, others not so fit and we have some that prefer to walk at the back.  It is very easy running being based on a paper chase.  More of a jog really unless you want to run and go find all the checks.  So if you fancy a nice run in the countryside of Hampshire and Surrey, come along any Sunday and you will be made most welcome.  After the run come and have a drink with us in the pub where the run is located.
