I couldn't find a decent base with the a stance or proportions I wanted
for my WW so I built her mostly from scratch. However, my methods of making
figures from scratch differ greatly from others. I created a wire armature
using aluminum wires and rough out the body using Promat or epoxy depending
on my mood .... I used Promat for WW because I ran out of epoxy. After
curing it in the oven, I used a dremel to carve out holes that will will
accomodate the future joints. I then add a thin layer of superglue to the
surrounding area to strengthen it. After the glue dries, I insert and glued
the joints into place using superglue. Most of the joints that I've made
from scratch becomes loose after a month or 2 of rigorous play so I decided
to cannibalize an existing joint. As to why I added the knee joint, well
I saw a picture of her flying in one of the ADCU book and wanted mine to
be able to have that pose. After the joints are in place, I add Promat
and smooth out the details. Everything on this figure is sculpted it rather
than paint on. The stars on her bikini and the different layers on her
chest armor are sculpted on. I still haven't decided which head I prefer.
