I started this project over a year ago before the news that N2Toys would make a 12" version. I decided to complete the project because I wanted a Neo in FC format ... besides what else am I going to do with a Keannu Reeves head sculpt?

The shirt was made from lycra while the pants were sewn using a thin polyester blend. The jacket is a modified Sting coat. Neo also features my latest FC body modifications, double hinged knee joint in addition to all the previous modifications. I felt he need more articulation in the legs for karate fight scenes.

The glasses were a fun experiment. I sculpted the lenses directly onto a spare head cast and made a quick impression mold of it. For the frames, I use a 0.25 mm TMA (Titanium Molybdenum Alloy) wire. These wires can resist bending forces up to 30 lbs of pressure and unlike to be bent out of shape or broken with rigorous play/ removal. I bent the wire to conform to the bridge of his nose and ears. I then poured the clear resin with black tint into the impression mold and dipped the TMA frame into the resin before it cured. It took a couple of trial and error to get that perfect convex shape. I trimmed off the excess resin and polished it to a glossy shine. I dipped the ends of the frames in Tool Dip to simulate the ear guards and to prevent scratching of the paint.

I wanted to make a whole set of weapons from scratch but at this point the project had already consumed too much of my time. If N2 Toy didn't release a 12" version, I might have invested that extra time. As it stands, Neo will received recycled weapons. I'm looking forward to seeing the N2 Toys version and see how it compares to mine.
