Description: Lord Sinclair, a highly respected Nobleman of Kandarin has been found murdered in his mansion. Despite the presence of a large number of guards all working hard to solve the crime, local law enforcement officers are totally baffled. Can you use your razor sharp analytical mind to uncover the evidence and unmask the culprit?

Difficulty Level: Easy

Items/Skills Needed To Start: A pot

Starting Location: Talk to the Guard at Sinclair Mansion

Reward: 2000 gp and 3 quest points

Instructions:

Talk to the guard and accept the quest to find out who killed Lord Sinclair.

Talk to one of the men nearby and get all the information he knows. (This step may not be necessary, I'm not sure.)

Talk to the poison salesman and find out about the big sale that he made at the Sinclair household.

Talk to each of the children, Bob, Frank, David, Elizabeth, Carol, and Anna. Find out what they each did with the poison that each of them bought.

Investigate each of the areas that they said they cleaned. One of them will not have had the poison used on it. This is where the quest gets interesting, because you can get six different outcomes.

Whichever person did not use their poison is the culprit, but you need more evidence. Go to the room with the evidence and pick up the dagger. Then, investigate the window to find a thread. This thread is the same color as the trousers of your culprit.

Even with the thread, you don't have enough evidence, so go to the cooks room and get some flour, or just get flour any other way, and use the flour on the silver dagger.

Go to the small room to the west of the house that has sacks in it. Search the sacks and get two pieces of flypaper. Use one of them on the dagger to get the murderer's fingerprints.

Around the house are several barrels that you can search. There are two downstairs and four upstairs. Search them in turn until you find the item belonging to your culprit.

Put flour on this item, and then use a flypaper with it. Now you have the culprit's fingerprints. Use the unidentified fingerprints with your culprit's fingerprints, and they will match.

Finally, having matching fingerprints, the thread, and the knowledge that the culprit did not use their poison, talk to the guard again. He will reward you.
