Bust-a-Move Pocket is the game which was originally out in the arcade years ago (under the name of Puzzle Bobble). It was always a very 2d and old looking game even at the time of it's release yet it's addictiveness meant that it was still very popular. Because of it's low computing needs it has been ported to several different consoles including the Playstation, N64 and Gameboy. Then it was released for the Neo Geo Pocket Colour.

Gameplay
The game is very simple, shoot a ball upwards towards those already laid out and should it hit a ball of the same colour which is touching another of the same then they will 'pop' of the screen. A simple idea which takes a minute to get the hang of once playing has commenced. It also sounds rather bland but then again, so did Tetris. The gameplay is as good as the arcade and the joystick works brilliantly to convey accurate movie. On top of this, you can hold the B button while moving the joystick to move in small increments. The gameplay is great as long as you like this type of game.

Sound
Well, it's not an action game so there are little sounds to judge. However, the classic Japanese-style tunes from the original have been ported over accurately and they can become irritating but if they were missing I would probably complain as well.

Graphics
This game isn't about graphics and so there isn't much to say about them. They do the job and are fine to look at. Sometimes you can mix the colours up like the green and grey but if you play in good light this won't happen.

Overall
I think this game is very good because I like that style. Try to play it somewhere else like the arcade or a playstation first and if you like it there you will like it on the Neo Geo and vice versa. There are loads of levels (I'm upto 87) and if you let your friends get at it and they beat your records (for how fast you completed a level) you won't be able to sleep at night until you've beaten them again. This is the most addictive element, and in my opinion better than the link up feature. Try before you buy.
