Metal Slug 2nd Mission is the sequel game to Metal Slug 1st Mission. It is good that a sequel has been made as I feel that the original had a lot more to offer than it originally presented and Metal Slug 2 is a great improvement.

Gameplay
The gameplay isslightly better than the first but pretty much more of the same. Don't be discuraged though, like the first, it is the most accurate representation of the arcade game that one could have on a hand-held. It is fast and the guns and various vehicles that you can drive (aeroplane, small tank) are cool.

Sound
Digitized sound with actual speech is a great step to take for the Neo Geo and a welcome one. It really is cool when you pick up a gun and a sound plays telling you what it is. There is average music in the game also. Overall the sound is good and I think that the voices that you actually hear is great! Nothing else special, however.

Graphics
The graphics in this game are definitly better than the prequel and surprisingly, better than I expected. It is smooth and has very good character animations. There is not much slow down. The slow down is quite understandable considering the amount of action on screen when it occurs. The game is rich with colours and really does become great to watch when you are fighting lots of small people in a scene with a good background picture or perhaps animation.

Overall
Whether you have Metal Slug 1 or not I think that you should get this game. The Neo Geo doesn't have that many games but this is another which keeps the small collection to a high standard. I rate this game quite highly and think that anyone would like it, even more so those who liked the first. I really did think that there would be a 2 player option so that two players can link up to each other and play together. There's always the next sequel, eh?
