Surreal is a song that I didn't understand it's lyrics till few months ago when I bought her translation script in the CD. It's more like a song about finding yourself and knowing more of yourself. The first few lines means "it doesn't mean you're not responsible if you only do know how to choose your love. If you even can't find you love, who cares about responsibility?" I don't really get the true meaning of this because I don't experience much of this myself. All I can conclude is that if you want to find what you want, don't regret to do so.
I love some of the phrases like " The feeling of the lonliness if one person is not better than two person together." I suddenly figure out that this song is kind of couraging when you listening to it not only the pace and rhythm, but when Ayu sings it it really meant something for it.
In a place that does not exist we still have to be ourself, no matter how hard the situation is. It's a hard process, but you still have to stand firm for yourself. In this song Ayu also hope for "he" could be as himself.
Honestly first time when I hear the song I only like the piano vocal part, that's the first part, and the "laaaaaaaaaaaa" part. Then when I know the lyrics I tend to like it more and more everyday. It really sooths you when you're in a bad mood, when you need something to encourage you. When you're feeling bad, listen to this song.
M is one of the best songs Ayu ever sang. One thing special about this song is she used her nickname "CREA" to compose this song. The background purpose of this song that I heard is Ayu heard of friend telling her about Maria, and what she did and suffered. Later on Ayu realized that Mary is just another person, same as us. So she used this song title as M.
This song comparing to others is quite poetic. More like description of others than her own personal feelings. Examples like "no reason to start but excuse to end" "when two persons met there, the curtain started to roll up".
In here the M refers to Maria, that all because she had a kind heart and because of love, everything is settled. I think in this song a large paragraph is about love. Not much about beloved, but more like how you act and how you love. You don't mind how the others meant to you, as long as you love them. I think only Maria or Jesus only could do it. See in nowadays we're keep on saying how much we love others and stuff. Do you know what the real meaning of love is? It's about that you don't mind what the others will do to you, it's about you never hope what others will do. Love is patient and kind. It is not arrogant or boast. It does not envy ( Cor. 3:18 ). I think we really misdefine the word of love. When you don't have other's love, you turn the love to hatred. That is the most dangerous thing to do.
The song was released in Christmas. I remember when I went to Japan at that time, I saw her video on the big screen somewhere in Ginza, the MV was really beautifully made. Especially she is singing in front of the church, the snow effects, how she dressed.........amazing combination. She also dressed herself looks like Maria, which personaly I found a bit odd...anyway, it's a song which always can touches your heart. Go to listen to it when you feel hurt, then you'll think of her, and cry more.............
