Here's the completed scope, with the shroud (but not the finder) on. The meade 12.5 (since departed) & the ST80 are in the background. I'll post a couple more pictures with some details on the finder when I get a chance.
Here (below) is the scope with its new tie-dyed shroud from Night Owl Shrouds. They did a fine job at a reasonable price, and are a pleasure to deal with to boot. They're at  http://www.geocities.com/Deepskydave/Dobscope11_nn4.html

After spending so much time blackening the inside of my Meade 12.5 sonotube it seemed a bit counter-intuitive to have this light-blue interior, but I haven't noticed any contrast degradation with the new shroud. As long as the light-path is reasonably baffled, I think the main function of a shroud may be to keep people's car keys off my primary, anyhow. This shroud is much easier to put on, since it fits so well that I can put it in place, loosely, before I attach the secondary cage, and it does not collapse the trusses. I had to wrestle the original black shroud over the secondary cage, because it fit so snugly that if I put it on before the secondary cage  it would squeeze the trusses together, and make it impossible to line up the trusses with their upper connectors.
