RPG IN A FIGHTING FRENZY!

At first look Guardian Heroes may look like a basic and slightly blocky looking side-scrolling beat em up, but first impressions are misleading. This is a side scrolling beat em’ up, a one on one beat em’ up and an RPG all in one package!! It seems like Golden Axe clone but it is much more deeper! with a deeply involving plot that twists and turns!!

A CUT AND MAGICAL FIREBALL ABOVE THE REST!

The Guardian Heroes are a group of adventurers who have teamed together in search for a legendary sword (This sword is supposed to have saved the world in ancient times) Han (one of the Guardian Heroes) comes across a sword and takes it back to the Guardian Heroes hideout.

Just as Han is showing it off a stranger bursts in!! She is warning the Guardian Heroes to retreat but just then the Royal Knights burst in and set the hideout on fire!! Under the orders from the King’s advisor Kanon, the Royal Nights have been sent to retrieve the legendary sword!! What nobody know is that Kanon is planning to take control of the kingdom after the sword has been destroyed!!

Kanon wants that sword at all costs and the Guardian Heroes along with the stranger want to know why. The answer to this question will take the team across the land, battle after insane battle.

The deeper into the quest and the decisions that you choose (not to mention the multiple paths) will reveal the motives of not just Kanon or the King but why the earth spirits and the spirits in the sky involved!!!

The Guardian Heroes are:

Samuel Han (extremely powerful swordfighter);

Nicole Neale (A priestess with a special power! the power to fall over!! I’m not complaining, as this is one of her better moves, causing any enemies nearby to to lose their balance)!!

Randy M Green (extremely powerful sorcerer with a assistant.... a rabbit called Edward M Cognac with the power to turn into a flaming homing fireball)!! ;

Ginjiro Ibushi (A powerful ninja with ninja magic!! Ginjiro is in search of a legendary sword ‘Murasama’ which is so powerful that it has required a soul! So in order to find this sword he joins the Guardian Heroes).

Two special Warriors will later (or should that be sooner) join the team. Selena Corsair (although she makes an appearance in the story mode. She becomes selectable once the game has been completed. The ex-leader of the Kingdom Red Knight Corps, Selena knows there’s something wrong! Selena HAS to uncover the secrets and clear her name)!!!

The undead hero!! (The final member of the Guardian Heroes. A dead warrior from a forgotten past!! He’s summoned from his grave by the legendary sword wielded by Han!! This creature is yours to command)!!!!!!!

BEAUTY IS SKIN DEEP!!

Guardian Heroes may not look graphically sophisticated but it does show of the power of Saturns 2D prowess fantastically. The bosses are huuuuge!

There are some clever effects on the scenery and the number of huge sprites on screen at once will amaze you!! The Saturn is a sprite generating monster and Guardian Heroes truly shows it!!

The action is so fast and hectic the screen just bursts with mayhem and at times you can lose track of where your character is!! Totally insane!! There is sooo much to this game, one page isn’t enough.

Each character has a number of attributes; strength, Magic, Intelligence, Luck etc and you can change these attributes from the leveling up you gain.

The game has a multiple routes and there are 45 combatants to unlock for you to use in versus mode. The versus mode is up to 6 players battling away at each other.

This can be up to 6 human players or 6 computer controlled players depending on what you choose!!

There are also multiple endings to uncover too!!

Again this is a game for true Hard-core gamer’s! Casual player’s beware!!
